A short explanation
Set in my fav city, New Nancy, its a tale about a out of luck zipboy. He gets a chance to make a big score. However his luck as always is poor. Its a sad tale of loss and failure but somebodies got to tell it, maybe just maybe there is a happy sparkling ending.
Four university students are off to see a major party event. A large meteor is landing in a isolated lake in the desert so its party central. Each of them are chasing different dreams, all of them are on a course of change.
A mouse wielding crazy kid who is trying to be heard gets entangled with a strange person. Together they try make sense of this world without Health Packs or Magic. Is it possible to survive in a world as dull as this?
Off the bat I would like to say yummy for Ren's artwork. Well I started Uni and hadn't been drawing a comic for over a year and I met an amazing artist and friend. Ren and I think along similar brain-waves of insanity. We made two characters inspired from the likes of
The comic ran down slowly over a period of months and the University work became more intense. I didn't want to work on the comic myself and well things unraveled. We still joke about getting the comic back together but I don't think it will happen. Still I wonder sometimes if Tiren ever got pawned by the skeletal goldfish or if Mike got a job.
PS. I'll try get Rheno to add his two pennies to this page ;)
A look into the life of Alex a few years after the events at Castle Doc. What scars still haunt him at night, will he ever be free from the darkness.
The original intent of this story was to firmly bring the SAD characters into the Channel of Power world. The story was originally broken into three parts. The first part is complete, and the other two written.
Set in the Drakensberg and Midlands of South Africa this tale about two lost travellers devolves into a nightmarish trip into absurdity. Whats start off as innocent antics moves onto shape-shifters, mad scientists, angry women in leather, little green men and of course things exploding.
Well its been what feels a lifetime ago since I sat down with my new Wacom tablet and thought about drawing a comic. It is almost literally a lifetime ago. Oh well I was young and made MANY mistakes. This is here more to encourage people with the thought of if she used to be this bad maybe I can do it to. The truth is reading lots of brilliant comics isn't encouraging for a starting person because you feel like a talentless idiot. When I saw Jamies first comics I knew I could do it. Not because of the art quality but because the writing was great, and she has improved leaps and bounds and produces great comedy.
About the universe, this was intended for a school Zine but after a few runs the Zine collapsed. So when I started I was in the realm of reality. However shortly after I started pulling this into my world Channels of Power. Sadly my friends are given author credits because I was doing shameless catering to their whims at times, its kind of obvious. So well it does start in reality it ends in a paranormal sense of things.
I will have more detailed notes on the actual comic pages as you read. I have compiled several comics into bundled pages to speed up the process, and removed bad filler art. Its a funny read for me because it makes me cringe. I originally gave a character based on me a cameo role and she became a major plot element, god I'm self centred. Oh well enjoy, and remember this is how NOT to do a comic.

I think the prime lessons I learned while doing these comics was...
Part of me wants to hide these in the deepest hole and never let them see the light of day. I like to show my early work, and things I'm bad at cause too often people don't.
As a teenage artist I always thought I sucked (I did) and fear kept me from showing my work. Then I discovered some novice art communities where other people shared their stuff, and read brilliant comics like Collage Roomies from Hell. I realised you needed to start somewhere, and so I did.
Be it games, art, or anything the best advice is...
Start NOW, be proud and you never stop learning.
